When Windows 8 OS Developer Preview released in last Oct-Nov 2011, within few hours, the huge traffic worldwide access on Microsoft's site. Microsoft head, Steve Ballmer informed a massive 500,000+ downloads of Windows 8 Developer Preview. It means that Microsoft fans across globe, have downloaded about half a million copies of Windows 8 Developer Preview.

There are many branded and unbranded laptops, desktop, tablets, notebooks and other relevant devices manufacturers across globe who have tested Windows 8 OS Developer Preview; in order to ensure that their device is compatible with Windows 8 OS and it has no issue for future products. You can count each computer manufacturer among them on this test, including individual Windows end user.

HP, Dell, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, Samsung, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Gateway, Sony and other computer manufacturers have tested Windows 8 OS Developer Preview respectively, with their different series products. Most of the computer manufacturers stressed on testing of their Tablets product rather than their laptop and desktop. Here priority was for Tablets and Laptops as it has focused on its future. Windows 8 OS is an odd type; it may be the first version of the operating system where finger touch is not a postscript. It is clear that this time around, Windows 8 is optimized for touch. This OS will work for many computer devices, but we need to consider that if Windows Phone-inspired UI would present a vertical learning curve on this.
